This Wizard will guide you through the process of creating a tactical decision exercise.
Tactical Decision Exercises (TDEs) are designed to give officers an efficient, data-driven method to practice and improve some of the critical skills that form the foundation of effective police decision-making. TDEs are based on extensive scientific research in decision-making science, psychology, and human performance. This research shows that TDEs can provide a structured, rigorous “core workout” for essential skills of perception and cognition. TDEs give officers lots of repetitions, guided insights, and feedback on skills that can make or break their performance on the street. TDEs are not a substitute for live exercises such as reality-based training (RBT) or role play scenarios. However, most officers don’t get enough live training and coaching to bring them to a high enough skill level to ensure effective performance on the street. TDEs provide an efficient, cost-effective way to multiply and enhance the benefits of live training. TDEs and similar training tools have been used extensively in the military, medicine, aviation, and other high-stakes fields for some time. Polis Patrol Expert brings the benefits of TDEs to law enforcement in a digital platform driven by leading-edge police practices and the latest in web-based training technology.
